Painting Workshops

I have run classes and workshops in the Yorkshire Dales for nearly 20 years. The workshops this year will be based in Carperby Village Institute  which is a light, warm, spacious venue ideally placed for sketching/painting in the surrounding attractive countryside. Castle Bolton, Redmire moor with views into 4 dales, Aysgarth Falls and the River Ure are all within easy reach. There is ample parking space beside the hall which is situated in the middle of the village on the north side of the road. With a maximum of 9 in the group, individual needs can be catered for and painters of all abilities, working in any medium are welcome. Students will be encouraged to simplify, experiment, extend their painting techniques and just enjoy the experience! Light lunches and refreshments are included and always prove very popular!

We sketch outdoors where possible and painting can be done in situ or back in the studio depending on the needs, abilities of the group.

Early booking is advisable and please email or phone re availability. I shall send a booking form which should be returned with a £40 deposit.

The Yorkshire Dales is a perfect venue for people of all ages and interests. It is renowned for its wonderful hill walking. Fishing, golf, mountain biking, cycling, horse riding and even hang gliding are all possible too. You will find a warm welcome in the dales with excellent accommodation and numerous good eating places to suit all tastes. York and Harrogate are both within easy reach and have excellent facilities. There are many attractive market towns in the country areas with very good weekly markets, shops, galleries, antique shops, museums, castles and places of interest.
