Landscape Painter
Winifred Hodge’s paintings are set in places she knows intimately, has wandered over, explored and enjoyed many many times. Throughout her life Winifred has loved to be outdoors, keenly observing and exploring the fleeting transitions of light, colour and contrast on land and sea. Whether working in the Yorkshire Dales, the Hebridean islands or abroad, she constantly seeks to capture scenes which give a feeling of immense space and the effect the forces of nature have had in shaping it. Her work is fluent, dynamic and exciting and she enjoys working methods that are both challenging and intense.
Alongside her successful career as a landscape artist Winifred runs popular classes and workshops throughout the year. She has had many solo and group exhibitions and her work is in collections both here and abroad.
